The Office of the Chancellor has formed a committee, with wide representation, to examine Pitt's branding system. It's expected that during 2019, more unified and consistent standards for University of Pittsburgh branding will be established to strengthen Pitt's messaging and visual identity in ways that advance the reputation of the entire University and all of its entities.
During this time, all schools, programs, centers, institutes, and other units should continue to use the prescribed University of Pittsburgh logos. The creation of new logos is discouraged while the committee completes its work.
As an option, materials for individual programs and initiatives can be made distinctive through the creative use of stylized design, type, color, and/or images that, together, convey a unique visual identity in conjunction with the University's prescribed branding.
For unusual instances that may require non-Pitt alternative branding, please complete this request for consideration.
University Communications, which does not charge a fee for its creative services, adheres solely to the institution's branding standards. Any costs associated with alternative branding will be charged to the requester.
