Key Features & Benefits

CampusPress sites are available to Pitt units and faculty for public-facing University-related content.

University units may publish sites quickly while avoiding costly custom development and ongoing technical updates.

WordPress is the most widely used CMS, and there is a wealth of documentation available online in addition to our getting-started materials.

Pitt-branded templates ensure use of consistent headers, footers, and colors across all sites.

Site owners use Pitt Passport to log into and manage their content.

CampusPress code and templates meet WCAG, FERPA, and GDPR standards.

Core, theme, and plugin updates are tested and applied centrally.

CampusPress is less suited for:

  • Complex sites that require custom design, advanced functionality, custom modules or integrations.
  • High-traffic flagship or marketing-critical sites like pitt.edu that require advanced user interaction and a high degree of flexibility.
